Event Vault (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website eventvaultapp.com and the Event Vault service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through our identity provider (Clerk). We do not store passwords directly.
Event Content
Our service is designed to collect and store media on behalf of event hosts. This includes:
- Video recordings submitted by guests
- Voice notes and audio recordings
- Photographs and images
- Written text messages
- Guest names and optional contact information
Uploaded media files are subject to reasonable size limits enforced by the platform. Content is stored using Supabase Storage with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Event Vault service
- To process transactions and send related information (receipts, confirmations)
- To send administrative messages, updates, and security alerts
- To respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
Media Storage and Processing
Guest-submitted media (video, audio, photos, and text) is stored securely and is accessible only to the event host and, where applicable, other guests as determined by the host's privacy settings. Guests may designate messages as “private” (visible only to the host) or “shared” (visible to all event participants).
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) and stored with encryption at rest. Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who assist in operating the platform, including:
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery
- Supabase — database and file storage
- Clerk — authentication and identity management
- Stripe — payment processing
- OpenAI — AI-powered features (Vinny™ concierge)
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights
Data Retention
Event content is retained for as long as the host's account is active and the event vault exists. Hosts may delete individual submissions or entire event vaults at any time. Account deletion will result in removal of all associated data within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to an additional 90 days before being permanently purged.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request data portability

California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
European Residents
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing personal data is the performance of a contract (providing the service) and legitimate interests (improving the service and preventing abuse).
Children's Privacy
Event Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
